About Me
Alexander Wilson, LMSW (he/him) is a compassionate and dedicated clinician who brings over 17 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from SUNY Oneonta and his Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University.
Alex’s work is grounded in deep care for the communities he serves, with a strong focus on creating spaces that feel safe, affirming, and empowering. He has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating grief, life transitions, and substance use, and is passionate about meeting clients exactly where they are in their healing journey.
Since 2022, Alex has been an integral part of The Neighborhood House of Long Island, where he facilitates bereavement support groups for those who have lost loved ones to overdose and suicide. He now serves as Co-Executive Director, continuing to expand access to compassionate, community-based support.
In addition to his work in community spaces, Alex has experience in substance use treatment settings, public-facing social work roles within community libraries, and private practice, where he has provided individual therapy. His approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in respect for each client’s unique story.
Alex is committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and meaningful connection, supporting clients as they move toward healing and growth.
