Fire Island Pines Psychotherapy is in network with Medicaid, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, NorthWell Health, and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. We also offer out-of-network benefits for folks not in network and many insurance plans have out-of-network benefits and will typically reimburse a percentage of our fee. For those without insurance, we offer sliding scale pricing.
Our cancellation policy requires a 48 hour notice of cancellation. Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice requires payment in full. If you are unable to attend your session in person, you can always opt to have your session it via phone or video for the week.
A sliding scale is a way for folks without insurance or who have plans that do not cover mental health services to easily be able to afford and access our services. Our sliding scale rates change based on availability, so we ask that you please send us an inquiry to learn more about our rates.

We utilize simple practice a HIPAA Compliant platform for telehealth sessions. All communications between our clients and their therapist are completely confidential.
Sessions are only offered weekly or multiple times each week, depending on the level of support you feel is needed. We can not offer bi-weekly sessions at this time because doing so will take away a spot for someone who may be in need of weekly sessions. We offer telehealth and in-person sessions.
Of course! Let’s be real, there are times when technology is not our friend, and we can choose whether it is better to continue with a voice call or to reschedule for another time. Also you may be feeling like this is all you have to offer that week, and we are okay with this we are willing to meet you where you are at and make therapy feel comfortable for you.
Let’s not set expectations and take it at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Therapy is and should be a safe space to explore whatever comes up for you. Together we will work on improving any aspects of your life that you wish to explore. We, as a practice, hold the belief that therapy is a journey towards enhancing various facets of your life. It’s important to understand that seeking therapy does not mean you are broken; rather, it reflects your desire for growth and positive change.
